Voluntary severance pay in the F/P/T

You can receive, under certain conditions, a voluntary severance allowance, whether you are a civil servant or a contract worker DTA: titleContent , if your position is being restructured and you decide to resign accordingly.

You can receive a voluntary severance payment if the following 2 conditions have been completed:

  • Your position is being restructured during a reorganization of the service and you choose to resign accordingly
  • There was a deliberation to provide a voluntary severance package in your community

The decision shall be taken after consulting the Social Committee.

The decision shall specify the services, job descriptions and grades concerned by the restructuring of the service and for which the allowance may be awarded.

It shall also lay down the conditions for the award and the amount of the severance pay.

In the absence of deliberation, you cannot receive the voluntary severance pay.

You can claim the voluntary severance pay if you complete the following 2 conditionss:

  • To be an official or contract staff DTA: titleContent
  • Be more than 5 years from the minimum retirement age on the date of sending your request for resignation (the postmark being authentic)

The process for claiming the compensation is determined by each community.

Your community needs to specify what form the application should take and when it should be made.

Before accepting the resignation, your community must verify that you meet the conditions to receive the compensation.

If you don't complete them, your community must inform you that you will not be eligible for severance if you continue to resign.

You're a public servant

The amount of the allowance is determined on a case-by-case basis, within the framework set by the deliberation, and may vary according to your seniority in the administration.

The amount of the allowance may not exceed a maximum amount fixed at 2 times the annual gross remuneration received in the calendar year preceding the resignation.

The gross remuneration taken into account includes gross index salary, residence allowance, family salary supplement (SFT) and bonuses and allowances.

Compensation shall be paid in one installment once the resignation has become effective.

It is subject to contributions Additional pension (RAFP), CSG, CRDS.

It is taxable.

You're contractual

The amount of the allowance is determined on a case-by-case basis, within the framework set by the deliberation, and may vary according to your seniority in the administration.

The amount of the allowance may not exceed a maximum amount fixed at 2 times the annual gross remuneration received in the calendar year preceding the resignation.

It is subject to contributions pensions (basic and supplementary), CSG, CRDS.

It is taxable.

You must not be re-recruited as a probationary official or contract agent in the public service (State, territorial or hospital) within 5 years of your resignation.

Otherwise, you must reimburse your voluntary severance to the community that paid it to you within 3 years of your recruitment.
