Should you insure a pleasure boat?

If you have a pleasure boat, you must insure it to participate in sports competitions (sports boating). Insurance is not compulsory outside this framework.

However, if you are responsible for an accident with your pleasure boat when you are not insured, you will have to compensate the victims yourself.

It is therefore recommended to take out insurance to protect yourself.

You can insure your boat with any insurance company. You will need to present the ship's papers and the navigator's license.
