The disability pension application can be done online

Since June 15, 2021, with the new online service put in place by the Health Insurance, it is possible to apply for a disability pension entirely online from your Ameli account. It is therefore no longer necessary to send a paper form or to travel. This online service is open to all insured persons, employees or self-employed. Service-Public.fr tells you how to do it.

As a result of an accident or non-occupational illness, you may be recognized as disabled if your ability to work and earn is reduced by at least 2/3. To compensate for the loss of your income, it is possible to receive a disability pension, subject to conditions. The disability pension application can be made on your own initiative or on the advice of your attending physician.

Instructions for use of online service

To use this online service, it is necessary to have an Ameli account and to log in to it.

If you don't have an account yet, this video simply explains "How to create an Ameli account in just a few clicks?"

  • Step 1: on the Ameli account, go to My steps > Apply for a disability pension;
  • Step 2: Read the information that appears on the screen: disability rights, pension eligibility conditions and start the application.
  • Step 3 : check personal information (surname, first name, email address, nationality). If necessary, it is possible to modify them;
  • Step 4: provide information on his employment status: employed or self-employed activity, no activity, other...;
  • Step 5: A summary of the previous information appears on the screen.
  • Step 6: download its latest tax notice in PDF format. It will be used to assess social resources and levies;
  • Step 7: validate the application;
  • Step 8: an acknowledgement of receipt is sent in the email of his Ameli account.

Once your application has been submitted, Health Insurance will review your application. In case of a positive response, you will receive a confirmation email directly into your Ameli account. If the Sickness Insurance does not respond within two months of the application, the application for a disability pension has been refused.

Please note

The disability pension application online service is not yet available on the Ameli account mobile app. You need to sign in to your account from Health Insurance website.

FYI  

Employed insured persons who have several employers are not covered by this new online service. They can fill out the Application for disability pension S4150 in PDF format and send it, together with the supporting documents requested, to their health insurance fund. In case of difficulties to fill in the paper application, it is possible to be accompanied by making an appointment at his health insurance fund on his Ameli account.
