The college scholarship is awarded on a means-tested basis to families whose income does not exceed a certain ceiling, defined according to the number of dependent children. This aid is paid to persons providing care for a child enrolled in secondary school or the National Center for Distance Education (Cned). The income that is taken into account to benefit from it is the income on the 2023 income tax notice for 2022. You have until October 19, 2023, to apply if your child is enrolled in a public or private school, and until October 31, 2023, if they are enrolled in Cned. It is possible to apply for several scholarships if you have several children enrolled in college.

How do I apply?

The application for the 2023 college scholarship is made online between 1er September and October 19, 2023 if your child is attending public or private school, until October 31, 2023 if enrolled at the Cned.

The request is made online on the School Services portal with your EduConnect account or via FranceConnect. To make your steps easier, consult the help guide to the first connection.

For students enrolled in Cned, the application for the scholarship is made using the form. You must submit or send the form, accompanied by the necessary supporting documents, to the Academic Service of the National Scholarships of the School Center. You can consult the application procedure for a scholarship at the college of the NCEN.

The Ministry of National Education makes available on its website a free stock exchange simulator. It shows whether your household can benefit from a scholarship thanks to a personalized estimate of its amount for each child attending school.

In the case of cohabiting parents, it is the household income that is taken into account. In the case of alternate residence, it is no longer the income of both parents that is taken into account. Account will be taken of the income of the applicant of the grant, or of the income of his household reconstituted, the Ministry of National Education states.

Families with modest incomes are also eligible for other educational support such as the College Social Fund.

Please note

where the student is a half-boarder or a boarder, the costs of half-board and board are deducted from the amount of the grant.

FYI

a boarding-school bonus of €327 (1er step), from €396 (2e step) and €465 (3e step) is intended for all college students attending boarding school. It is strictly linked to the status of a scholarship student. It is paid in 3 installments at the same time as the scholarship. Families don't have a specific file to fill out.
