College Scholarship
Verified 11 October 2022 - Directorate for Legal and Administrative Information (Prime Minister)
The College Scholarship is a grant to responsible a college student. To benefit from this, your annual resources must not exceed limits, depending on the number of children you have to support. For the 2022-2023 school year, the college scholarship amounts are €37, €102 or €159 by quarter. If you are eligible, you must apply between the start of the school year and October 20, 2022 (or October 31 if your child is enrolled in Cned).
What applies to you ?
Public College
To qualify for the college scholarship, the child must be enrolled in college. You must be responsible for it and your resources must not exceed a certain amount.
Child managers
To benefit from the college scholarship, you must have the actual and permanent charge of the child. You have to pay for its maintenance (food, accommodation, clothing). You must also assume your emotional and educational responsibility towards him.

Apply for a college scholarship

Married or paced couple
If you are a couple who is responsible for the child, the resources to be considered are those of the couple, even if a member of the couple is not the child's parent.
You will be required to provide the joint tax notice.
If your child is in alternate residence with the other parent, you must choose which of you will benefit from the scholarship.
If everyone files an application, they will be declared inadmissible and no scholarships will be awarded.
It is not permitted to provide a certificate from the other parent undertaking not to apply for a scholarship for the same student.
Couple in concubinage (free union)
If you are a couple who is responsible for the child, the resources to be considered are those of the couple, even if a member of the couple is not the child's parent.
You will be required to provide tax notices for each member of the couple.
If your child is in alternate residence with the other parent, you must choose which of you will benefit from the scholarship.
If everyone files an application, they will be declared inadmissible and no scholarships will be awarded.
It is not permitted to provide a certificate from the other parent undertaking not to apply for a scholarship for the same student.
Isolated parent
If you bear the burden of the child alone (single, divorced, separated, or widowed parent who does not live as a couple), only your resources are taken into account.
You will need to provide your tax notice.
If your child is in alternate residence with the other parent, you must choose which of you will benefit from the scholarship.
If everyone files an application, they will be declared inadmissible and no scholarships will be awarded.
It is not permitted to provide a certificate from the other parent undertaking not to apply for a scholarship for the same student.
At the end of the procedure, you will receive an acknowledgement of your application.
The college will then give you an acknowledgement of receipt.
FYI
at the time of the request, you can allow the administration to update your tax information annually. In this case, you will no longer need to apply for a scholarship each year.
Depending on your situation, quarterly amount for the school year 2022-2023 will be €37, €102 or €159.

The college sends you a notification of award, indicating the amount of the award, or a notification of refusal.
The scholarship is awarded for a school year.
You can challenge the refusal decision or the amount of the award within a time limit 2 months after the notification of allocation or refusal.
To do this, you can do a administrative appeal before the head of the enrolment college or the president of the academy.
You can also appeal to the administrative judge.
The scholarship is paid in 3 times, to every quarter (usually end of December, end of March and end of June).
If your child is a half-boarder or a boarder, half-board and pension expenses are deducted from the amount of the scholarship.
The scholarship is paid by the college's accounting officer, directly into your bank account.
The college scholarship is conditional on the student's attendance.
In case unjustified and repeated absences the duration of which since the beginning of the school year exceeds 15 days, a deduction may be made from the annual amount of the scholarship.
The decision is made by the principal of the college. It must be justified.
Private College
To qualify for the college scholarship, the child must be enrolled in a private college under contract or in a private non-contract college authorised by the president of the academy to receive scholarships.
You must have student load and your resources must not exceed a certain amount.

College Scholarship Application
You can authorise the college to collect the college scholarship on your behalf. He will pay you by bank transfer the balance of the exchange (after deduction of the pension or half-board expenses).
