The compulsory education (such as French or mathematics) include complementary teachings whose contents are established according to the knowledge and skills objectives of the common core. A decree of 7 April 2023 (amending the decree of 19 May 2015 on the organization of lessons in middle school classes) defines the form that these additional lessons will take at the beginning of the school year. It states that at the end of cycle 4 of schooling (corresponding to the end of class 3)e), every pupil must have benefited from each of the forms of additional education offered.

For 6th graders: weekly support time and support for homework

Within the framework of additional lessons offered, all pupils in classes of 6e will be able to receive, according to their needs, one hour of support or in-depth study in French or mathematics per week. This time will be organized in the form of compulsory inter-class teaching sessions, the composition of which will be revised at least quarterly.

To help students assimilate knowledge and reduce inequalities in learning, homework guidance will be organized by the head teacher. The latter will be responsible for fixing the hourly volume of this device.

For all schoolchildren: implementation of personalized support

All schoolchildren, according to their needs, will benefit from personalized accompaniment starting in the 2023 school year. The aim of this aid is to support pupils' ability to learn, to progress (particularly in their personal work), to improve their skills and to contribute to the building of their intellectual autonomy.

Interdisciplinary practical lessons will also be provided to enable any student to build and deepen his knowledge and skills.
