Introduction of the automatic review of the right to the stock exchange for the 2024 academic year

As of the start of the 2024 school year, the scholarships for middle and high school are automatically allocated to eligible households, with the “automatic examination of the right to the scholarship”. That is what is in an order in council in the House Official Journal April 4th.

The college or high school scholarship is an annual financial aid granted on a means-tested basis, to enable eligible parents to cover the costs of their child's schooling (supplies, school textbooks, etc.). It is paid in 3 installments (quarterly).

Until now, families have had to apply for a scholarship via the ÉduConnect portal or in paper format.

The introduction of the automatic examination of the right to the stock exchange aims to enable all eligible families benefit.

Consent required for automatic eligibility review

The decree specifies that “consent to the automatic examination of eligibility” for a national college or high school scholarship is equivalent to a scholarship application.

As part of the registration or re-registration of your child for the next school year, you have been asked to give your consent to the information relating to your marital status is transmitted to the tax administration, so that they can check your eligibility for the scholarship.

This information is linked to the information known to the Ministry of Public Accounts via the tax return, and it is thus possible to determine which families do not exceed the resource limits and can benefit from the secondary school or college scholarship.
