Can an employee be exempted from the employment medical check-up?

Verified 30 May 2023 - Directorate for Legal and Administrative Information (Prime Minister)

When hiring a new employee, the employer must, in principle, organize a recruitment visit to the occupational health service. This visit, called information and prevention visit (Vip), must take place within 3 months of hiring.

However, an employee may be exempted from performing a vip.

The conditions for this exemption vary depending on whether the employee is employed by a temporary company of work (temporary) or not.

General case

The conditions for waiving the vip differ according to the situation of the employee in the company.
