Have a hunting license

In order to have the right to hunt, you must have a hunting permit and have it validated for the hunting period you choose.

If you are a non-resident, French or foreigners, and you have a hunting license issued abroad, you must have it validated under the same conditions as to hunt in France.

Be insured

To validate your license, you must have subscribed one assurance of civil liability specific to hunting.

This insurance must cover you, for an unlimited amount, because of personal accidents that may occur while hunting.

This insurance must also guarantee your civil liability in case of damage caused by your dogs.

You must validate your hunting license every year depending on the desired geographical area.

Validation national allows you to hunt anywhere in France.

Validation departmental allows you to hunt in the validation department, and for the territories for which you have hunting rights, for their contiguous part located in the neighboring departments. However, the first^re annual validation that you get allows you to hunt everywhere in France.

You must validate your hunting license every year depending on the desired duration :

• One year, of 1^er July N to June 30 N+1.
• 9 consecutive days. This validation can only be requested once during the same hunting season.
• 3 consecutive days. This validation may be repeated twice during the same hunting season

Temporary validations of 9 or 3 days are not cumulative during the same hunting season.

Every year, you have to pay a hunting fee and one stamp duty.

To this total amount, add the variable amount of the federal contribution of the selected department.

For the hunting of large game, according to the federations, you have to pay a additional contribution. The amount varies from one department to another.

The various contributions and fees are payable in a single settlement to revenue administrator to the hunters' federation.

The regulation is to be attached to the application for validation of your hunting license.

The departmental hunting federations carry out the validation of the hunting license.

Request validation of the hunting permit for the current year

The form must be accompanied by supporting documents following:

• Certificate of insurance
• Amount of membership fee for a departmental hunters' federation
• Amount of the levy on the right to hunt large game (if necessary)
• Amount of hunting fees and stamp duty
• Permission of parents, of legal representative or the guardian if the person concerned is a non-emancipated minor over 16 years of age
• Authorization of the guardianship judge if the person concerned is of age under guardianship
