Who receives family benefits for a child in alternate care?

What applies to you ?
Family allowances are paid differently depending on whether or not the parents agree with the beneficiary or beneficiaries.
Agreement
In case of alternate residence of your children, you have the choice.
You can designate the parent who will be the beneficiary of all family benefits.
You can also choose to share the family allowances and designate 1 single beneficiary (you or the other parent) for other family benefits.
Your children are in alternate residence if they effectively reside alternately in the home of each of the parents in one of the following situations:
- By decision of the family court judge
- In case of declaration by the 2 parents
- In the case of a declaration by one parent not contested by the other
Caf
You must complete the cerfa n°14000 form. It includes the status report and the choice of benefit payment.

You should then address it to your CFOC.
MSA
You must complete the cerfa n°14000 form. It includes the status report and the choice of benefit payment.
Child(ren) in alternate residence - Declaration and choice of parents
You must then send it to your MSA agency.
Warning
you can only change your choice after one year (unless your children's residency conditions change).
Disagreement
You automatically receive a share of the family allowances, as well as for the other parent.
This share depends on the composition of your family.
Other family benefits continue to be paid to the parent who received them before the separation or divorce.
