Fourrières: the new rates as of March 1, 2024

Pound rates are regulated. An order issued in Official Journal on February 29, 2024, the caps on the daily collection and custody fees for passenger cars in the national territory, with the exception of Paris, Lyon, Marseille and Toulouse, were amended.

As of 1er march 2024, the maximum amounts of pound charges for passenger cars are:

  • material immobilization (shoe placement): €7.60
  • pre-impoundment operations (vehicle movement): €15.20
  • removal: €127.65 (instead of €121.27)
  • day-care: €6.75 (instead of €6.42)
  • expertise: €61

The keeper of the impound shall not return the vehicle until all impound charges (in addition to the fine for the original offense) have been paid.

Feed scales shall be fixed taking into account the size of municipalities. The cities of Paris, Lyon, Marseille, Toulouse are the subject of a separate scale in order to take account of the particular problems of traffic and parking and of the difficulties in implementing the operations of removal and custody of vehicles in these towns.

Find all the useful information on the site Service-Public.fr and go to the search tool for to find an impounded vehicle or finding a vehicle in the pounds of Paris.

Warning  

not all the pounds are connected to the online service yet. Be sure to prepare your vehicle's license plate number before you start the online process. If your vehicle cannot be found or if you experience difficulties, ask the police station or the gendarme closest to the parking place.

FYI  

carte grise if you pick up your vehicle (and the vehicle if it has been taken away) within 3 days of the pick-up, you must present the insurance certificate of the vehicle and your driver's license.

If you use a qualified professional to tow your vehicle, you only need to present the insurance certificate and inform law enforcement of the name of the professional chosen.

In all cases, you must pay the pound fees with the guardian.

After the 3-day period, the conditions for recovering the vehicle vary depending on whether it is in good condition, requires repairs and/or a technical check or is out of order.

Example :

the fee is €179 for a car impounded in Paris recovered the same day (€150 + €29) to which can be added € 7.60 if your vehicle has been physically immobilized.
