After consulting with political party representatives on July 12, 2021, Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin presented the 2022 electoral calendar regarding the dates of the presidential and legislative elections to the Council of Ministers on Tuesday, July 13, 2021. A decree summoning voters for the election of the President of the Republic was published on January 27, 2022 at the Official Journal.
Dates of election of the President of the Republic
The election of the President of the Republic takes place:
Sunday, April 10, 2022 for the first round;
Sunday, April 24, 2022 for the second round.
Nevertheless, in Guadeloupe, Martinique, French Guiana, Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon, Saint-Barthélemy, Saint-Martin and French Polynesia, voters cast their ballots on Saturday, April 9 and 23 to take account of jet lag.
