Property tax 2023: the payment deadline is approaching!

If you are the owner or usufructuary of an apartment or house (even if the house is rented to a tenant), you must pay the property tax on built properties (TFPB). You have until October 16 or 21, 2023, depending on the payment method used to do so. All details with Service-Public.fr.

Property tax notices are available as of August 30 if you are not monthly and as of September 22, 2023 if you are monthly.

Please note

If you prefer to receive your property tax notice in paper format, a letter will be sent between August 23 and September 26, 2023 (if you are not monthly), or between September 18 and October 6, 2023 (if you are monthly).

Deadline for payment in case of telepayment (online payment)

If this is your first online payment, you will need your tax notice and bank references. It is also possible to pay tax via a smartphone or tablet via the app

. Access can be done by entering your tax number and password or by flashing the code printed on your tax notice (bottom left of the first page).

If you choose the dematerialized payment (direct online payment via internet, smartphone or tablet, direct debit on time or monthly), the payment deadline is october 21, 2023 midnight (debit from account 5 days later).

Deadline for payment for other means of payment

For amounts less than 300 €, you can settle until october 16, 2023 by:

  • TIPSEPA: Your bank details are already pre-printed. Date it, sign it and send it back to the collection center whose address is on the TIPSEPA. If it's 1re Once you pay by TIPSEPA or have changed your bank details, attach a Bank Identity Statement (BIR) and send it back to the collection center whose address is on the TIPSEPA;
  • check: your check must be made payable to the public treasury and sent to the collection center accompanied by the TIPSEPA (to serve as a reference for your payment) without signing, pasting or stapling it;
  • wire transfer: to make your transfer, you must contact the tax department you depend on to obtain its bank references. Its contact information is included on your tax notice in the

amounts over 300 € must be paid by monthly direct debit or by due date or by direct payment online on the site

or by smartphone or tablet.

The deadline for joining the property tax levy at maturity was June 30, 2023.

FYI  

In rare cases, the tax authority says, documents cannot be completed within the set time limits, the taxpayer will receive his property tax notice at later dates. The time limit for paying this tax will then be adjusted accordingly.
