The objectives of these schemes are to:

  • capture the aquatic environment from 4 years of age;
  • know how to swim at the entrance in 6e ;
  • practice safe water and water activities;
  • prevent drowning.

The schemes are aimed at children aged 4-12 who cannot swim, and mainly at children in priority neighborhoods and rural areas to enable them to discover and safely navigate the aquatic environment.

The swim learning program is organized as follows:

  • a swimming apprenticeship of at least 10 hours with sessions of 30 minutes to 1 hour depending on the level and age of the children;
  • a group of up to 15 children for 6-12 years old and up to 10 children for 4-6 years old who cannot swim;
  • the courses are free (upon registration and within the limit of available places) and are given by a professional of the FFN (French Swimming Federation);
  • at the end of the apprenticeship, children aged 6 to 12 who have developed the necessary skills are invited to take the

    . The diploma will allow them to practice water and water activities safely.

To register your child (within the limits of available seats), see the list of FFN sites I learn to swim proposing this operation. It is regularly updated: you will find the address of the organization near you and the email address of the contact person.

FYI

the internship takes place during school holidays, weekends or during extracurricular times.

To enroll your child in swimming lessons, insurance is mandatory and you will have to fill out a health questionnaire for minors.

Please note

these swimming lessons, supervised by a professional, are totally free of charge. However, be aware that in some structures, a symbolic flat-rate contribution may be required to cover the registration and insurance costs. Generally, this represents a cost of around €15. Some organizations pay these costs directly to offer a 100% free device.
