A helping hand from the Caf to finance your Bafa

Do you want to work with children and teenagers and run holiday camps? The Bafa is for you! It is available from the age of 16 and the Family Allowance Fund helps you finance it. Service-Public.fr gives you all the information.

The Bafa and the BAFD are essential for working in a leisure center or a holiday camp.

The training takes place in 3 stages:

  • one general training 8 days;
  • one practical training 14 days;
  • one deepening 6 days or one qualification eight days.

These steps can be done in boarding school (with accommodation) or half-board (without accommodation, with lunch).

Reminder

To become a facilitator, you can enroll in training at Bafa from the age of 15 years and 6 months and be at least 16 years old on the first day of the general training session.

Subscribe to Bafa

To register, go to the website dedicated to the Bafa/BAFD. If you are under 18, you must provide parental permission. Different training organizations are available.

Financing your Bafa

Bafa training is not free and can be expensive. It's not a fixed cost; it varies from agency to agency. The budget ranges from €700 to €1,000 for full training.

What help from the Caf?

The Family Allowance Fund (Caf) offers assistance from €200 to finance the Bafa, without any means test. To be eligible for this support, you must have followed the last deepening or qualification session. Click the Bafa tab: Request for Training Assistance/Apply. The request may be made within a period of Maximum 3 months following registration for the last phase of deepening.

Additional aid is offered by the CAFS at local level but also at regional level: county or regional councils, town halls, company committees, associations, organizers of settlements and recreational facilities. Check with your Cf! Young people who are accompanied in their formalities and advised by a training organization will not have to advance the costs.

Please note

Bafa is a recognized qualification that can be valued on a CV and on Parcoursup. It is a testament to your commitment to others and is a good springboard for accessing careers in animation, early childhood or personal services.
