Bafa and BAFD: help for Civil Service volunteers

Despite a 37% increase in the number of Bafa (Facilitator Credentials) issued in 2022, the animation sector is still under stress. A decree of 20 July 2023 confirms the granting of exceptional assistance to young people engaged in a civic service mission who wish to apply for the Bafa or BAFD training. This help from €100 shall be granted to persons who completed or is about to complete a Civic Service commitment in 2022 by the end of 2023. Objective: to enable these young people to acquire further training and to take part in a new civic experience.

Reminder

in October 2022, the minimum age for taking training at Bafa was lowered to 16 yrs.

Who can collect the aid?

This exceptional aid of a lump sum of €100 is intended to compensate for part of the costs of enrolling in a training session (general, advanced or in-depth) under the Facilitator’s Qualification (Bafa) or the Director’s Qualification (BAFD). The cost of the training is estimated at between 800 and 900 €.

You can receive support if:

  • you are Civic Service volunteer between 1er january and december 31, 2023 ;
  • or you have completed a civic service volunteer assignment in 2022 ;
  • you are registered between 1er January 2023 and 1er september 2024 training in preparation for the Bafa or the BAFD, allowing the supervision of collective shelters for minors;
  • this training is provided by a authorized body.

How do I get help?

Applications for the aid shall be made via the online service of theService and Payment Agency (ASP)

The closing date for the submission of applications shall be November 30, 2024 inclusive. Any application filed after this date or any incomplete file will be rejected.

Applications shall be taken into account in the order in which the dossiers are received, up to 10 000 cases for which aid is paid.

the Civic Service is a voluntary commitment for a period of 6 to 12 months, open to all young people from 16 to 25 years of age, and up to 30 years of age with a disability, without qualification or experience. It can be carried out within associations, foundations, local and regional authorities, public institutions, public services, solidarity companies of social interest, etc.
