Disability: Foster Care Home (Fam)

Verified 18 August 2022 - Legal and Administrative Information Directorate (Prime Minister)

You are severely dependent and need a third person to carry out the acts of everyday life (feeding, dressing...), you can be housed in a medical home (Fam). The Fam offers permanent accommodation, medical care and life activities. In principle, the Fam welcomes people who are less dependent than the population housed in a special reception home (Mas). However, in practice, the audiences are substantially the same.

The medical home (Fam) offers adults with severe disabilities accommodation and support to carry out the essential acts of everyday life (eating, dressing...).

The Fam also offers medical surveillance and educational assistance to help maintain or acquire greater autonomy.

You must apply to the departmental house for disabled persons (MDPH) in your department.

Depending on the department, this can be done directly online or by mail.
