Can you become a public servant without a competition?

Yes, you can be recruited as a probationary officer without a competition, and then be tenured in the following cases:

• You are recruited from category C corps or frames of employment of which the grade starting with the lowest pay scale in the public service (C1 pay scale)
• You're recruited on a reserved employment

You can also be recruited, under certain conditions, as a contractor in CSD: titleContent, and then be granted tenure in the following cases:

• You are disabled persons
• You are recruited through the Career pathways in the public service (Pact)
