Weapons Information System (AIS) - Owner Space (Online Service)

The AIS is available to owners of major private weapons following:

• Person with a hunting permit, who possesses a weapon, or who wishes to acquire and possess a weapon
• Person with a French Shooting Federation license for shooting, who possesses a weapon, or who wishes to acquire and possess a weapon
• Wishing Person keep a legacy or found weapon who does not have a sports license for ball-trap or biathlon, nor a valid collector's card
• Person holding or wishing to acquire certain category C weapons and who has no sports license for ball-trap or biathlon, nor a valid collector's card.
  These are weapons of category C3 (a firearm manufactured to fire a bullet or several non-metallic projectiles) and category C9 (a deactivated firearm of category A, B or C, i.e. rendered unfit to fire).

To create your account, you must have a email address.

Prepare them supporting documents scanned or photographed:

• Identity document (identity card, passport or residence permit in France)
• Proof of domicile
• Hunting permits if you are a hunter. Also prepare your AIS number if your gunsmith has had the opportunity to create one for you.

Once the account is created:

• one identifier number is assigned to you. To log in to your account, you will need to enter this number and the password you have chosen.
• one SIA number is affected. This number will follow you throughout your life as a gun owner. It should be presented to your gunsmith before any intervention on your weapon.

If necessary, you can contact your prefecture via a contact form available in your personal space.

In case of difficulties to create your SIA account, you can get help from your gunsmith or in a digital reception point in the prefecture.
