Publié le 04 octobre 2023 - Legal and Administrative Information Directorate (Prime Minister)

Customized housing assistance (PLA) is upgraded every 1er October in line with the evolution of the Rent Benchmark (IRL) of 2e quarter of the current year. For each beneficiary, the level of upgrading of his LPA depends in particular on his city of residence, his family situation and his resources.

Each APL request is customized. The amount of aid paid is calculated on the basis of parameters of housing expenditure and resource parameters. In particular, the following elements shall be taken into account:

  • the amount of your rent;
  • the number of dependants usually living in your household;
  • the amount of your resources and, where applicable, the amount of resources of the person with whom you live as a couple and of the persons usually living in your household;
  • the value of your real estate and financial assets and, where applicable, the assets of the person with whom you live as a couple and the persons usually living in your household. This value is only taken into account if it is greater than €30,000.

Ec 1er In October, the parameters of housing expenditure (which are therefore part of the elements used to calculate the amount of your LPA) were upgraded by 3.5%, i.e. the evolution of the benchmark rent index the second quarter of 2023. The overseas communities, as well as the Corsican community, have their own benchmark rent index. For the second quarter of 2023, the trend in the benchmark rent index is 2% in Corsica and 2.5% in the Overseas Territories.

Please note

Some of the resource settings are updated on 1er January of each year. For example, the resource floors used to calculate the personal housing assistance paid to student beneficiaries are upgraded at that time, based on changes in the benchmark rent index.
