Supplementary Invalidity Allowance (Asi)

If you are disabled and you are not old enough to qualify for the Old Age Solidarity Allowance (Aspa), you can apply for theAsi: titleContent. The Asi completes your income, to make you reach a minimum total amount. It is paid monthly by social security (or MSA: titleContent if you depend on the agricultural plan).
The situation varies depending on you couple or that you live only.
Couple
You must have a general disability that reduces your work or earning capacity by at least 2/3.
There is no minimum age to apply for Asi.
But it is no longer possible to get Asi as soon as you reach the age to obtain Aspa (legal retirement age).

You are French
You must reside in France (metropolis, Guadeloupe, French Guiana, Martinique, Reunion, Saint-Barthélemy, Saint Martin).
You are permanently resident in France if you are in either of these situations:
- You have permanent home in France. Home means the place where you normally live, that is, the place of your habitual residence, provided that this residence in France is permanent.
- The location of your main stay is located in France. This is the case if you stay in France for more than 6 months (or 180 days) in the year concerned.
You're foreigners
You must reside in France.
You are permanently resident in France if you are in either of these situations:
- You have permanent home in France. Home means the place where you normally live, that is, the place of your habitual residence, provided that this residence in France is permanent.
- The location of your main stay is located in France. This is the case if you stay in France for more than 6 months (or 180 days) in the year concerned.
You must also be in one of the following situations:
- To have a residence permit for at least 10 years that permits work
- Be refugee
- Being stateless
- Benefit from subsidiary protection
- Fighting for France
- Be a national of a Member State of the European Economic Area or Switzerland or Great Britain
- Be Algerian or Andorran or Beninese or Cape Verdean or Congolese (Republic of Congo) or Gabonese or Israeli or Malagasy or Malian or Moroccan or Monegasque or Senegalese or Togolese or Turkish or Tunisian, under certain conditions
Maximum income
The revenue of your couple shall not exceed €1,482.21 per month, from 1to July 2022.
If your income for the last 3 months exceeds the maximum amount, your income for the last 12 months is taken into account.

the maximum income amount is revalued each 1to April.

From 1to July 2022, the maximum amount of the Asi paid is €549.78.

Pension paid by MSA

You have an early retirement pension

You have a Reversion Pension

Pension paid by MSA
You must complete the Asi application form:

FYI
the Asi shall be paid from 1to day of the month following the date of receipt of your request.
Condition of residence
The Asi payment is cancelled in case of departure to live outside France (metropolis, Guadeloupe, French Guiana, Martinique, Reunion, Saint-Barthélemy or Saint Martin). You must report this departure. If you don't, the money you wrongly pay is recovered.
FYI
your departure for a medical-social establishment located in Belgium is not considered as a departure to live outside France.
In case of return to France, a new application from Asi will have to be submitted.
Age condition
When the beneficiary of the Asi reaches the age to obtain Aspa (legal retirement age), Asi ceases to be paid to him.
4 months prior to this date, he is informed that he must apply for Aspa.
If the death occurred after December 31, 2019, the amounts paid are not recovered. The deceased's heirs did not repay the money. This applies to all amounts, regardless of their date of payment.
Alone
You must have a general disability that reduces your work or earning capacity by at least 2/3.
There is no minimum age to apply for Asi.
But it is no longer possible to get Asi as soon as you reach the age to obtain Aspa (legal retirement age).
