Covid-19: email tax release request only

Currently, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, requests for tax exemptions are only made by email .

You do not have to travel to the company Tax Department (EIS).

The tax discharge (or tax certificate) indicates that the vehicle is in a regular situation in relation to value added tax (VAT).

It allows you to get a carte grise if you bought a new or used vehicle in a country of European Union other than France.

General case

You must apply to the company Tax Service (EIS) on which your place of residence depends.

Warning  

contact the service beforehand, as some people are experimenting with an online approach and no longer receive the public. Also find out about the payment methods allowed.

Who shall I contact

You must submit the following documents by originals and photocopies :

  • Form #1993-PART-D-SD
  • Purchase invoice (if you purchased the vehicle from a garage or company) or transfer certificate (if you purchased the vehicle from an individual)
  • carte grise obtained in the foreigner
  • ID on behalf of the person who purchased the vehicle
  • Proof of residence in France

One certified translation you may be asked if the invoice or carte grise is not in French.

If you have purchased a new vehicle, please note that the tax department may also ask you to submit a certificate of compliance. The manufacturer may issue it as a digital document.
