The amount of the activity premium shall be calculated taking into account:

  1. on the one hand, a lump sum that varies according to the composition of the household and the number of dependent children to which must be added 61% the amount of the household's occupational income. This amount may be increased in the light of each worker's working income. This increase is called improvement.
  2. on the other hand, the resources taken into account by the household.

The calculation formula is as follows:

Activity premium amount = (flat-rate amount, possibly increased + 61% professional income + individual bonuses) - the resources taken into account for the household.

Can the activity premium be increased?

The amount of the premium can be increased if you are in isolation situation and depending on the composition of your household.

This increase is called increase.

  • 30% per additional person

Isolation surcharge

This increased lump sum shall be granted from the month in which one of the following events occurs:

  • Declaration of pregnancy
  • Declaration of birth of a child
  • Declaration of care of a child
  • Declaration of separation
  • Declaration of widowhood

The increased lump sum may be granted for 12 months, continuous or discontinuous, during a period of 18 months following the event.

This amount varies according to the number of dependent children.

If your youngest dependent child is under 3 years of age, the increased lump sum is granted until the age of 3.

The increased lump sum shall be equal to 128.412% the basic lump sum.

Added to this 42.804% the basic lump sum for each child.

What is the individual bonus?

Each member of the household with a professional activity can obtain a bonus that varies according to his monthly professional income (average over the last 3 months).

This increase is due if the average monthly salary is higher than €687.35.

The amount of the subsidy is increasing according to income.

It ranges between a few euros (€26.29 for a monthly income of €700, for example) and €181.19 if the average salary is more than €1,398.00.

Beyond that, the amount of the subsidy remains constant.

Activity Premium Application - Cif

After examination of your file and favorable opinion by the services of the Caf, you receive a notification allocation for a period of 3 months.

The reference period is the quarter preceding the quarter in which you receive the activity bonus.

The amount paid to you is fixed for 3 months. It doesn't take into account changes in your household's resources.

In order to challenge a decision on the activity bonus, you must appeal to your CAF's Amicable Appeals Board.

This appeal must be made within a period of 2 months from the receipt of the decision you wish to challenge.

If you are not, you can then submit a litigation before the administrative court.

The activity bonus is paid to you from 1er the day of the month in which you filed your application.

The premium is paid monthly (e.g. the March activity premium is paid in April) by the Caf: titleContent.

The activity bonus is not taxable.

the amount below which the activity premium is not paid shall be €15.

Every quarter, you must declare all the resources (net) of your hearth for the possible revaluation of the activity premium.

You should inform your CFOE in the following situations:

  • Moving
  • Change in your family situation
  • Changing your business and resources
  • Changes to your assets.

Any change in circumstances involving a revision of the amount of the activity premium shall take effect from 1er the day of the month in which he arrived.

It shall cease to have effect as from 1er the day of the month after its occurrence.

If you no longer qualify for the activity bonus, the payment ceases from 1er the day of the month when you no longer fill them out.

In case of hospitalization

If you don't live in pairs and don't have a dependant, the amount of your activity bonus is reduced by half.

Warning  

if you are pregnant, this reduction does not apply.

In case of imprisonment

You must prevent Caf: titleContent of your incarceration by sending a certificate of presence so that the payment of the activity bonus is suspended.

Otherwise, you will be written off and you will have to pay back the overpayment when you leave.

When you have received too much activity bonus, your CFOC may ask you to refund it for 2 years.

The overpayment shall be recovered by deduction from the forthcoming activity premium.

If you no longer collect the premium, the CFOA may recover the amounts wrongly collected by deduction from the monthly payments of other upcoming benefits.

The deduction may be made on the family benefits, Disabled Adult Allowance and housing allowances.
