Maintenance postponed due to the health situation related to Covid

Due to the health crisis, the professional interview can take place until 30 June 2021.

Every 2 years, the professional interview is a mandatory appointment between the employee and the employer. It is intended to consider the career prospects of the employee and the training that can contribute to them.

The aim of the professional interview is to accompany the employee in his career prospects (qualifications, change of position, promotion, ...) and to identify his training needs.

The interview is devoted to the prospects of professional development, in particular in terms of qualifications and employment.

He must inform the employee about the validation of professional experience (VAE)..

The interview must also include information on how to enable the personal training account (CPF) and opportunities for employer funding.

Specific content is defined by convention or agreement.

If there are no specific terms in the branch or enterprise agreement, the employer shall define the content of the interview in accordance with the strategic direction of the company.

Example :

  • Assessment of the employee's professional career before and since entering the company
  • Identification of business needs and employee aspirations and skills
  • Prospects for professional development

Warning : professional interview is not work evaluation the employee, which is carried out in the framework of his annual maintenance.

Professional maintenance concerns all employees regardless of their contract or working time, in all companies and all sectors of activity.

Employees under contracts for apprenticeship or professionalization, who are recognized as employees, are not excluded from these provisions. This is despite the fact that they also receive support as part of their work-study program.

Frequency

The professional interview must take place every 2 years (from the date of entry into the company, then from the date of the previous interview).

The employer may, either by decision within the undertaking or by collective agreement, organize professional interviews at different intervals and in different ways.

However, professional maintenance must be systematically proposed to any employee who resumes his activity after a period of interruption due to one of the following cases:

  • Maternity leave
  • Parental leave at full time or partial
  • Adoption leave
  • Caregiver Leave
  • Sabbatical leave
  • Safe voluntary mobility period
  • Sick stop over 6 months
  • Trade union mandate

The interview may take place, on the employee's initiative, on a date prior to the resumption of the post.

FYI : the employer of at least 50 employees has until 31 december 2020 to set up the professional interview.

Status every 6 years

Every 6 years, the professional interview must provide a summary of the employee's career path. This assessment makes it possible to verify that the employee has actually benefited from the professional interviews planned during the last 6 years.

It also ensures that during the last 6 years, the employee has performed or benefited from the following 3 things:

An account of the state of play is then written during this interview. A copy is given to the employee.

The interview must take place during working time and is considered as actual working time. It takes place on the premises of the company.

In an enterprise of at least 50 employees, if the employee has not benefited during the last 6 years from professional interviews and at least one non-compulsory training action, the employer must grant the personal training account (CPF).. The employee's FPC will then be credited with €3000..
