What authorization should be given for roofing work?
Verified 09 February 2023 - Directorate for Legal and Administrative Information (Prime Minister)
Do you want to carry out roof repairs that will change the exterior appearance of the building? You must obtain a city planning authorization before starting your work.
You do not need authorization when the materials and their shades are absolutely identical to those you are replacing. You must inquire with the city planning department of your municipality.
The city planning authorization is different if your work is accompanied by a change of destination of all or part of the building, for example by transforming a business into a dwelling.
General case
You have to drop off in town hall a Advance Work Statement (AD).
Jobs with change of destination
Your work changes the load-bearing structure or facade of the building and changes its destination. You have to drop off in town hall a building permit.
