Can I drive a 3-wheeled scooter or a 125 motorcycle with a B licence?

Step-by-step approach
You can drive light motorcycle with permit B if you complete 2 following:
- You have permit B since 2 years
- You followed a training practice 7 hours
Please note
if you followed training 3 hour practice before 2011, you don't need to retrain.
You are exempted from the following 2 cases:
- You obtained your B licence (with the equivalent of A1) before March 1980
- You drove a light motorcycle or a 3-wheeled scooter category L5e between 2006 and 2010 and you have been on licence B for 2 years or more.
Warning
if you have a B licence European, you must attend the training.
You can take 7 hours practical training in a 1 month before the anniversary date of 2 years of permit B.
Example :
If you received your B permit on December 20, 2021, you can take the training from November 20, 2023.
The 7-hour training includes 3 modules :
- Module theoretical of 2 hours : accident analysis, driving in the rain or at night, equipment in protective clothing...
- Module out of 2 hours : discovery of the vehicle, know how to do the necessary checks...
- Module in circulation of 3 hours (in and out of built-up area): adapting speed to situations, negotiating a turn...
The 7-hour training fee is between €250 and €300 according to approved self-schools or associations.
Since prices are free, ask for quotes.
You can take 7 hours training in a school or registered association.

You can drive a 3-wheeled scooter from the category L5e with a power of less than or equal to 15 kilowatts with permit B if you complete 3 following:
- You've had licence B for at least 2 years
- You 21 years or older
- You followed a training practice 7 hours
Please note
if you completed the 3-hour hands-on training before 2011, you do not need to redo the training.
You are not required to complete the 7-hour practical training in the following 2 cases:
- You obtained your B licence (with the equivalent of A1) before March 1980
- You drove a light motorcycle or a 3-wheeled scooter category L5e between 2006 and 2010, you are 21 years of age or older and you have a B licence.
