What licence to drive a 125 motorcycle? A quad? A van? We tell you what licence to have for each vehicle category.

- Road Safety Certificate (RSO) for category AM of driving licence
- Or any class of driver's licence
However, you do not need a permit if you were born before 1988.

The permit A allows motorbikes to be driven, with or without side-cars, regardless of their power.
Permit A may to be obtained by training (7 hours) after 2 years of detention of category A2.

The following permits authorise the driving of light motor quadricycle (cart):
- Road Safety Certificate (RSO) for category AM of driving licence
- Or any class of driver's licence

The permit B authorises the driving of a vehicle (car or van) which has the following 3 characteristics:
- Assigned to transport of persons or goods
- PTAC less than or equal to 3,5 tons
- 9 seats maximum (driver included)
With trailer
The following permits authorise the driving of a category B (car, van) coupled with a trailer:

The permit B allows the driving of a motorhome which has the following 3 characteristics:
- Assigned to transport of persons
- PTAC less than or equal to 3,5 tons
- 9 seats maximum (driver included)
With trailer
The following permits authorise the driving of a category B (motorhome of up to 3.5 tons) coupled with a trailer:

The following permits authorise the operation of a motor home exceeding 3.5 tons (less than 7.5 tons):
If you are driving abroad, code 79 must be affixed to the driver's licence (motorhome/motor caravan code including PTAC exceeds 3.5 tons).
Warning
You cannot drive a motorhome of more than 3.5 tons with the following B licences:
- Permit B issued on or after January 20, 1975
- Permit B issued before January 20, 1975, invalidated or cancelled after that date
- Permit B issued before January 20, 1975 obtained following the exchange of a permit issued by another State (European (or not) where the exchange took place after 20 January 1975
- Licence B issued before January 20, 1975 following the validation of a professional diploma when this validation took place after January 20, 1975
- B licence issued before January 20, 1975, obtained following the conversion of a military driver's licence when that conversion took place after January 20, 1975
The following permits authorise the driving of a lorry whose PTAC: titleContent is between 3,5 and 7,5 tons:
- Permit C1 or permit C if the PTAC of the trailer does not exceed 750 kg
- C1E licence if the PTAC of the trailer exceeds 750 kg
The following permits authorise the driving of a lorry whose PTAC: titleContent is greater than 7,5 tons:
- Permit C if the PTAC of the trailer does not exceed 750 kg
- EC licence if the PTAC of the trailer exceeds 750 kg

Car or bus with 9 seats (driver included)
Bus or coach with 17 seats (driver included)
The following permits authorise the driving of a coach or bus 17 places, including the driver, and 8 m maximum length ::
- D1 Permit
- D1 Permit if there is a trailer with PTAC: titleContent is not more than 750 kg
- D1E Licence if there is a trailer with a PTAC of more than 750 kg

You do not need a licence to drive a vehicle or an agricultural or forestry appliance if 3 are completed:
- The vehicle is attached to a holding agricultural or forestry ETA: titleContent or Cuma: titleContent
- You 16 years or older
- You drive during the activity agricultural or forestry
Vehicle with a speed of 40 km/h or less
The permit B authorises the driving of a vehicle or agricultural or forestry appliance, or equivalent vehicle, whose speed is 40 km/h maximum.

The following permits authorise the driving of a vehicle or agricultural or forestry appliance, or equivalent vehicle, whose speed is greater than 40 km/h ::
