Can a public official combine his job with a private activity?
Verified 29 December 2022 - Directorate for Legal and Administrative Information (Prime Minister)
What applies to you ?
Video - How does public service job cumulation work?
Yes, you can combine your public service job with one or more other activities.
However, the activities which may be combined with a public job are limited.
And the opportunities for stacking differ depending on whether you are working full-time or part-time, or whether you are working non-full-time (or incomplete).
And depending on the activity envisaged, it may be subject to authorisation or to statement or be, in certain cases, freely exercised.
In any case, the activity you accumulate with your public employment must be compatible with your service obligations in the public service.
It must not affect the normal functioning, independence and neutrality of the public service.
It must not affect the ethical principles of the public service.
Nor should it put you in a situation of conflict of interest.
Full-time employment
