If you are a foreigner and wish to work in France for more than 3 months, you can benefit from a multi-year residence card talent passport. This card is issued to you in several situations, especially if you are highly qualified or want to build a company or invest in France or if you are an artist. It is valid for a maximum of 4 years and renewable.

You must apply for a card if the proposed length of stay is at least 1 year. If the length of stay is less than 1 year, a long-stay visa valid for residence permit (VL-TS) talent passport enough.

You can get a card talent passport - qualified employee - exercise of an activity if you meet the following 2 conditions:

  • You have obtained a professional degree or Specialised Master /Master of Science (labelled by the conference of the major schools) or at least equivalent to the master
  • You have a contract of employment of more than 3 months that provides for gross annual remuneration equal to or greater than €39,494

  • Presentation on free paper of the project of creation, the business plan and a multi-annual forecast budget
  • If necessary: supporting documents concerning your ability to carry out the intended commercial, industrial or craft activity
  • Justification of an investment of at least €30,000 in the draft company (own or borrowed)
  • Proof of undertaking of guarantee by a credit institution or an approved insurance company to provide security and headquartered in France. Alternatively, you can provide a credit balance certificate for an account with your name at a credit institution with its head office in France.
  • When creating a proper name company: a copy of the commercial lease or sublease agreement indicating the activity. Optionally, you can provide permission from the premises owner or a copy of the home agreement.
  • In case of management hire:
    • Copy of promise or management lease
    • Excerpt from the previous operator's trade and business register or business directory (less than 3 months old)
