The removal of a vehicle from circulation may be decided by the gray card holder. In the event of an assignment (sale or donation), the new owner may also request the temporary withdrawal of circulation within one month of the assignment. This withdrawal suspends the vehicle's authorization to operate on public roads. To return the vehicle to service, the removal of the vehicle must be requested.

the withdrawal statement remains optional. It shall not lead to the cancelation of registration. It results in the suspension of the vehicle's authorization to operate on open lanes. This suspension applies even if towed by a registered vehicle.

  • Cerfa form n°13756 for declaration of withdrawal of vehicle circulation (to be downloaded via the teleservice)
  • Signed gray card of the vehicle marked “withdrawn from circulation on [day / month / year]”

  • Proof of technical inspection (unless the vehicle is part of exempted), when the vehicle is removed following a voluntary request from you
  • Isolated report of receipt (RTI) of the Dreal: titleContent if the vehicle has been converted during the period of withdrawal.

You must certify on the honor that the gray card applicant has

  • a vehicle insurance certificate
  • and a driving license corresponding to the category of the registered vehicle.

You do not have to attach a digital copy (photo or scan) of the driver's license. However, you may be asked to do so when you are examining your file.

Regulation gray card amount must be made by credit card.

At the end of the procedure, you will get:

  • a file number,
  • an acknowledgement of your application
  • and an Interim Certificate of Registration (ICC), which you must print out. The CPI allows you to travel for 1 month, only in France, waiting to receive your gray card.
