Flights in France

If you have your driver's licence stolen in France, you must make a flight declaration before applying for a renewal.

Receipt replaces permit for 2 months.

During this period, you must apply for a new driver's licence or duplicate.

European flights

If your driver's licence is stolen in a country European, the approach varies if you live in this country, are a tourist or are studying.

The French authorities are not competent if you have normal residence in another country European.

You must contact the appropriate authorities in that country to obtain a new permit.

If you have your French permit stolen during a holiday or a family trip to a country European, contact the relevant local authorities to report theft.

You must then have the declaration or receipt referred to by your consulate or embassy.

The receipt is valid for 2 months for the French authorities but check with the local authorities if it allows you to drive.

If necessary, local authorities check your driving rights through the EU driving licence network "RESPER".

Upon your return to France, you must apply for a duplicate online.
