You have to make a flight declaration in a police station or in a gendarmerie brigade.

You can make a online pre-complaint and then sign your complaint on the spot at a police station or gendarme brigade you choose.

One receipt is then given to you to allow you to drive only in France.

The receipt replaces the permit during 2 months.

During this period, you must apply for a new driver's license.

  • Flight declaration receipt
  • Digital photo-signature
    If you do not have access to a photo and digital signature service, you are invited to fill in and mail a photo-signature form (FPS) during the teleprocedure.
  • Proof of identity
  • Entitlement of domicile less than 6 months
  • If you are a foreigner:
    - proof of your normal residence in France if you are a Swiss, Andorran, Monegasque or national European (EU/EEA)
    - proof of the regularity of your stay in France (residence permit) if you are a national of another State
  • For a Class C or D license, medical opinion (form Cerfa n°14880)
    If you do not provide medical advice, you will get a duplicate with the same validity period as the stolen license.
  • Dematerialized tax stamp (€25)

3. Apply for a new driving license

  • Dematerialized tax stamp (€25)

3. Prepare documents to be provided

Prepare them subsequent documents :

  • Form cerfa no. 14948
  • Copy of the receipt of the flight declaration issued by the foreign authorities and endorsed by the competent consular or diplomatic post, and its translation into French by a certified translator
  • Two-sided color copy of a identity document
  • Copy of a proof of domicile less than 6 months
  • 2 identical identity photos and conforming to standards. Enter your first and last names on the back. The photos are to be pasted on the cerfa forms.
