You are a foreigner and you wonder whether you can benefit from family benefits (family allowances, childcare benefits...). To do this, you must reside with your family in France and respect special conditions related to your stay and the situation of your children in France.
The situation may vary depending on whether you are a citizen of an EU country or notEuropean Economic Area (EEA) or Switzerland.

You are a national of an EEA or Swiss country
You must meet the following 3 conditions to receive family benefits in France:
- To be able to prove your right of residence in particular as worker, inactive or student
- Reside in France
- Have at least 1 dependent child resident in France
If you have non-European children, you must produce proof of their regular entry if they are minors (or a copy of their residence card if they are adults or workers over 16).
You're Algerian
You must meet the following 3 conditions to receive family benefits in France:
- Being in residence regular
- Reside in France
- Have at least one dependent child resident in France
Documents to be provided:
You must submit one of the following documents:
- Resident Certificate
- Renewal Request Receipt residence permit
To prove the regularity of your child's stay, you must present a document that varies according to his situation:
- If born in France, extract of your child's birth certificate
- If he is between the ages of 16 and 18 and is working, or if he is an adult and is entitled to benefits, residence permit of the child
- Certificate issued by the prefect, stating that the child entered France at the latest at the same time as one of his parents having the residence card private and family life because of family ties
You are a refugee or stateless person

Documents to be provided
You must submit one of the following documents:

- Receipt of application for a residence permit foreigner admitted by asylum
- Receipt of application for a residence permit has been granted subsidiary protection with the decision granting such protection

You're in a different situation
You must meet the following 3 conditions to receive family benefits in France:
- Be in regular stay
- Reside in France
- Have at least 1 dependent child resident in France
Documents to be provided:
You must submit one of the following documents:
- Long-stay visa as residence permit (VLS-TS)
- Resident Card or temporary resident
- Residence permit issued pursuant to the Convention signed between the French Republic, the Kingdom of Spain and the Principality of Andorra
- Renewal Request Receipt from any of the above titles
- Temporary residence permit of more than 3 months
- Multiannual Title on Skills and Talent
- Special booklet, booklet or journey log
- Monegasque passport with residence permit
To prove the regularity of your child's stay, you must present a document that varies according to his situation:
