If you live abroad, you can vote from the foreigner for European elections, legislative elections, presidential elections, foreigner councilors and referendums. To do so, you must be registered on the consular voters list. But to vote in regional, departmental and communal elections, you must be registered on the electoral list of a commune.

You can request your registration on the consular voters list when you register on the register of French nationals established outside France or after you have registered in that register.
You must use this online service:
On site (consulate, embassy)
You can apply for registration on the consular voters list by going directly to the consulate (or embassy).
You must provide the following:
- Proof of identity
- Proof of residence in the consular constituency
- Form completed and signed

- Municipality where your home is located

- Municipality in which a business has been subject to local taxes for at least 2 years and of which you have been the manager (manager) or shareholder (majority or sole) for at least 2 years

- Commune where one of your parents (up to 4th degree) was born, is registered or was registered on the list of electors
