Ongoing experimentation and upcoming changes in early 2025

This sheet presents the regulations in force at national level.

Caution : since 2023, experiments on the support arrangements for RSA recipients have been underway in certain territories of 18 departments (Aisne, Aveyron, Bouches-du-Rhône, Côte-d’Or, Creuse, Eure, Ille-et-Vilaine, Loire-Atlantique, Loiret, Mayenne, Metropolis of Lyon, Nord, Pyrénées-Atlantiques, La Réunion, Somme, Vosges, Yonne, Yvelines). Since March 2024, 29 additional departments are concerned (Allier, Alpes-Maritimes, Alsace, Ardennes, Cantal, Charente-Maritime, Cher, Essonne, Eure-et-Loir, Finistère, Guadeloupe, Hautes-Pyrénées, Haute-Saône, Haute-Savoie, Hauts-de-Seine, Loir-et-Cher, Manche, Marne, Meuse, Oise, Pas-de-Calais, Rhône, Sarthe, Saône-et-Loire, Seine-Maritime, Belfort Territory, Val-de-Marne, Vaucluse, Vienna). The scheme will be generalized from 2025 as foreseen in the law of 18 december 2023 on full employment.

In addition, each person receiving the SSA

  • will automatically be registered with France Travail January 2025 (date of implementation not known to date)
  • and will then have to sign a contract of employment containing an action plan specifying its objectives of social and professional integration.

Application decrees to be published must specify the procedures for implementing the contract of employment.

If you are pregnant or if you already have a dependent child, you may be able to RSA: titleContent under certain conditions. You don't have to be over 25. The calculation of the amount depends on the resources and composition of the household. To obtain the RSA, it is necessary to make a first request, then update the situation every quarter. The procedure varies according to the affiliation fund (CAF or CMSA).
