What is changing in October 2023

Start of the Covid-19 recall campaign, deconjugalization of the allowance for adults with disabilities, new amounts for the solidarity rent reduction, upgrading of LPAs, property tax, changes in the ecological bonus, 2024 calendar of exams, date of the All Saints holidays... Here are all the changes scheduled for October.

Social-Health

The COVID-19 vaccine booster campaign for vulnerable people began on 2 October. The deconjugalization of the Disabled Adult Allowance (DAA) comes into effect on 1er October. From that date, only personal resources will be taken into account and no longer those of the couple. The flu vaccination campaign starts on October 17. The overseas solidarity income (OSI) is upgraded.

Accommodation

The value of personalized housing subsidies (PLAs) is increased according to the benchmark rent index. The amounts of the solidarity rent reduction, intended for social housing tenants who are beneficiaries of the personalized housing assistance, are reviewed at 1er October. The benchmark price on gas is going up. The work ceilings that can benefit from the MaPrimeRénov Serenity scheme are upgraded.

Silver

Property tax is paid as it is every year in October: you have until October 16 or October 21, depending on the payment method used. The ceiling for the People's Savings Book (SMP) has been raised to EUR 10 000. Are you retired from the state civil service? As of 1er in october, only active agents will be able to have holiday vouchers. If you applied before that date, it will still be honored.

Environment

As of 10 October, the ecological bonus is conditional on new electric cars achieving a minimum environmental score that takes into account in particular the environmental impact of the vehicle's manufacture. On the night of Saturday, October 28, to Sunday, October 29, it's winter time! You'll have to move your watch back an hour.

School, middle school and high school

13 and 14 October: these are the dates of the elections of representatives of parents of pupils, in schools, colleges and high schools. It will be possible to vote by mail. Would you like to apply for a college or high school scholarship? Applications can be submitted until October 19. The 2024 schedule of exams is available.

Following the terrorist attack on a secondary school in Arras on 13 October 2023, the Prime Minister announced that the

was declared throughout the national territory.

Justice

As of 1er in october 2023, the attempt to resolve the dispute amicably becomes mandatory before bringing the matter before the court. An obligation which concerns legal claims for payment of a sum not exceeding € 5 000 and certain specific disputes.
