Driver's licence: how to pass the code (common theoretical test or GSS)?

The Common General Theoretical Test (GSS) Permits B1, B, BE, C, D, CE, DE, C1, D1, C1E, D1E.
If you want to pass the motorcycle licence A1 or A2, you have to pass motorcycle code (ETM: titleContent).

Self-school
Step-by-step approach
You can prepare theETG: titleContent ::
- from 15 yrss within the framework of early learning of driving,
- from 16 years for the classic formula.
Registration costs €30.
If the code fails, you must repay this amount.
Auto-school can charge you in addition to the training fees.
The car school enrols you in an examination centre.
Auto-school must offer you a standard contract for the teaching of driving.
This contract shall specify in particular programme and course of training, price training and administrative services, obligations of each means of payment.
In addition to the training offered by the school, you can test your knowledge on the road safety site Trying to answer 24 questions.
The YouTube channel My self-school at home provides thematic episodes to revise the code.
The car school informs you of the place, date and schedule of the examination.
Before starting the test, you must present your summons and identity document.
Your ID must be valid or expired less than 2 years ago.
You must respond to 40 questions multiple choice.
To pass the code, you must have 35 or more correct answers.
You receive the results by email or by mail.
You keep the benefit of the code for 5 years.
You keep the benefit of the code in case of change of course.
For example, if you choose a guided learning after a classical apprenticeship.

Step-by-step approach
You can pass the code:
- from 15 years under early learning of driving,
- from 16 years for the classic formula.
Registration costs €30.
If the code fails, you must repay this amount.
Payment is made online on the website of the authorised centre.
To pass the code, you need a permit file number: harmonised prefectural registration number (NEPH).
The request done online on the TWO: titleContent.
The online service is accessible with FranceConnect or identifiers TWO: titleContent.
If you don't have an ANTS ID, you can create an account to have a personal space on the ANTS website.
Prepare the following documents, photographed or scanned ::
- Certificate of identity
- Proof of domicile less than 6 months
- 1 digital photo signature
- If necessary, medical advice (form cerfa 14880)
- For a minor or under legal guardianship, 1 copy of the proof of identity of his legal representative
- For 1re application for a permit, if you are french, 17 years of age or older, but not older than 25 years, individual certificate of participation in the defence and citizenship day (JDC) or an individual certificate of exemption, or a certificate of status vis-à-vis the national service, or a provisional certificate of status vis-à-vis the national service
- If you are a foreigner, proof of your regular stay or, if you are exempt from a residence permit, proof of your presence in France for at least 6 months (payroll, rent receipt...)
