Vidéo - Registering a used vehicle

Would you like to buy or receive a used vehicle? Log in to ants.gouv.fr first. Before starting, the seller must have previously completed the process of declaration of assignment on the site of the ANTS and provided the assignment code to the future buyer. To initiate your process, you must log in through your France Connect account. This procedure is not possible via an account to ANTS from the my account space. Click on the New Applications button, then on the Registration button and finally buy or receive your vehicle.

The change owner page will then appear on your screen. Choose the person involved in this process (for you or someone else). The change of ownership involves fees. Bring a credit card, license plate number and transfer code to continue. The transfer code was provided to you by the former owner. If you do not have this code, it is possible to complete the procedure with the form number of the registration certificate and the date of issue of the registration certificate.

Complete the requested information, and then click the next steps. A page opens with the information of the future owner of the vehicle. Fill in the information about the vehicle and the future owner. Then click Next Steps. You will then get a summary of the claim, as well as the amounts of tax to be paid. If everything is compliant, validate the legal conditions, the tax payment page, its sheet. Fill in the bank details and validate. You will then arrive on a page with the summary of the application and the provisional certificate of registration. You must print this Interim Certificate to use the vehicle while waiting to receive your final title by mail. This certificate is valid for one month. To follow the progress of your request, log in to your France Connect account: you will be able to view your current approach.
